Isabel Mejia de Grullon – Former Presidenta in the Dominican Republic Annie Armen Will Always Cherish Her RARE Experience Speaking in the Dominican Republic with a Room Full of Foreign Dignitaries & Respected Officials -- An Inspiring Story to Share:
November 2002 was a year Annie will never forget. She was invited by a fellow colleague and mentor to the Dominican Republic to speak at a conference, in the presence of many foreign dignitaries. Long story short, Annie was the last speaker on the roster.
Unbeknownst to Annie, Presidenta Isabel de Mejia Grullon arrived toward the end just before Annie's speech, specifically to listen to her speak, as this was what Annie was told later after meeting with the Presidenta.
When Annie was invited up on stage, she shared her unwavering passion for nourishing gifted children and what needs to be done not only to reach out but to encourage and learn from extraordinary kids who are often misunderstood, labeled and abused since timely memorial, drawing from her journey.
At this point, there was not a dry eye in the room, and there were over 300 people present. Once Annie completed her speech, she received a standing ovation, at which point, Presidenta Isabel Mejia de Grullon walked up on the stage to personally shake her hand.
As the tears were running down her face, Presidenta Grullon then took the microphone and began to say these words in Spanish, later translated: “Hearing Annie Armen speak here, in the Dominican Republic for the very first time, captured my heart, as if I have known her all my life. …”
The very next day, Presidenta Grullon invited Annie to her office, gave her a tour together with her daughter Laura around the Presidential Palace, and took her to visit the Conani Centers designed to help nourish impoverished families and children – an unexpected surprise and honor beyond words this was for Annie.
Presidenta Grullon and Annie Armen will always share a rare connection as a result of their experience!

I have gotten to know Annie Armen very well for the past 2 years and I know unique talent when I see it. I hired Annie to take on a rigorous book project for me that very few people could have done. I asked, and she delivered in excellence, to pull together a compilation of 35 chapters in my newest business book, comprising over 650 pages written by....here's the challenging part.....31 contributing authors, including hers. 22 of the 31 contributing authors never wrote a book or even a chapter before, yet experts at what they do.
That said, I entrusted Annie with managing this tough project.
